Content throttling is a feature that helps you control how often autoplay tours and new surveys are shown to users. The goal is to avoid overwhelming users with too much content, while still making sure your messages reach them at the right time.

How it works

  • You define a maximum number of displays within a certain renewal period.
  • Once the limit is reached, the content will stop showing.
  • When the renewal period ends, the counter resets and content can be displayed again.

? Example: If you set the limit to 10 displays every 2 hours, autoplay tours and new surveys will be shown up to 10 times. After that, they stop until 2 hours have passed since the first display.

How to set it up

  1. Navigate to Admin → Space Settings
  2. Under Throttling, click Enable Throttling
  3. Choose:
    • Limit (number of requests allowed - e.g. 10)
    • Renewal period (time frame for renewal)
    • Unit (unit of time - hours, days, weeks, or months)
  4. Save your settings
  5. The limit will now apply to autoplay tours and autoplay new surveys

How to check

You can verify throttling in your browser’s local storage under the key uf_throttling:

  • renewalDate – shows when the counter will reset.
  • showedContent - see displayed content and when it happened
  • usage – a number that increases with each view until it reaches the set limit.

✅ With throttling, you keep your communication balanced: users stay engaged without being overloaded, and you keep full control over how often your content appears.
