If enabled, Smart Tip Beacons (hotspots) are placed automatically. When the target element is a piece of text or a button with text, in some cases the beacon may overlay the text.

In some other case, you may simply want to place it outside of the element for aesthetic reasons (see below)

As you can notice, by default the smart tip beacon will always appear in the middle right position over the element, if space allows. If the element is small, the beacon may overlay it entirely.

Default beacon position 0 and 0

Here's how to move the beacon

1. Open the smart tip editor and locate the smart tip / beacon that you want to move

2. In the settings for that specific smart tip, under the Beacon section notice the Offset adjustment section with two fields - Horizontally and Vertically

To move the beacon to the right from its original position, input a positive number in the "Horizontally" field, to move it to the left input a negative number

To move the beacon upwards, input a positive number in the "Vertically" field, and correspondingly a negative number to move it downwards

The default values in these two fields, 0 and 0, represent the default position of the beacon on the element - which is the rightmost point on the horizontal axis of the element.

Examples

A. The setup below will move the beacon by 30 pixels to the left and by 40 pixels upwards from its original position.

B. The setup below will move the beacon by 25 pixels to the right and by 54 pixels upwards from its original position
